I am a third grade gifted and talented teacher at Brooks School Elementary (Hamilton Southeastern Schools) in Fishers, Indiana. I was fortunate to have been chosen to receive a Japan Fulbright Memorial Fund scholarship to travel and study education and culture in Japan during June of 2005. This blog was updated daily for my students and family during my trip. Although my trip is now complete, I will leave the blog up for any interested person to read.
I got up and grabbed a taxi to get to the train station to catch the Shinkansen Bullet Train. One thing about the Japanese transportation system-it always runs on time! The Shinkansen arrives on time, and does not wait for any latecomers. The train certainly seems to travel quickly as the trip from Tokyo to Kyoto only took a little over two hours with four stops along the way.
